The National Doctoral Forum on Metastable and High-Entropy Metal Materials sponsored by the Graduate School of Zhejiang University and hosted by the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Zhejiang University was successfully held at Zhejiang University from November 9 to 10, 2022. The forum involves 24 universities and research institutes all over the world; more than 230 professors, researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and doctoral students participated in this forum. Due to the pandamic, the meeting was scheduled to be held simultaneously online (more than 170 people) and offline meetings (more than 60 people).
There were several keynote reports on various topic, including Introduction and High-Throughput Design of High-Performance Lightweight High-Entropy Alloys given by Academician Peter Liaw from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Purification of Relaxation Modes in Metallic Glasses given by Academician Wang Weihua from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc.
On the afternoon of the 9th and the morning of the 10th, the forum mainly consisted of reports and discussions by doctoral students from universities at home and abroad. The main contents included Design and Performance of Heat-Resistant High-Refractive Index Alloys, Design and Performance of Face-Centered Cubic High-Refractive Index Alloys Strong toughening design, Application of advanced analysis technology in metastable and high-entropy metals, etc.
The last conference report of the forum was an excellent report titled Latest Progress in Magnetism and Invar High Entropy Alloys by Dierk Raabe, an academician from the Max-Planck Institute of Steel in Germany, a top international scientist. At this point, the two-day National Doctoral Academic Student Forum on Metastable and High-Entropy Metal Materials has successfully concluded.
