On January 15th, 2019, Professor Lv Zhaoping, vice president and doctoral supervisor of Beijing University of Science and Technology, was invited to hold a special lecture entitled “Design of High Performance Metal Materials Based on Microstructure Control” at Shaw Science Museum. Professor Lv Zhaoping has been engaged in the research of high performance steel materials, bulk amorphous materials and high entropy alloys for a long time. In the report, Professor Lv Zhaoping deeply explained the background of high-performance steel materials and related research work and achievements for the teachers and students, and focused on the control design of metal material microstructure.
Before the report meeting, Professor Han Gaorong, Dean of Department of Materials, presented Professor Lv Zhaoping with a commemorative plaque for the guest speaker of Qiushi Material Science Forum.

Vice President of Beijing University of Science and Technology, Professor, doctoral supervisor, distinguished professor of Changjiang Scholars of the Ministry of Education, winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, special allowance of the State Council, editor in chief of international academic journal Intermetallics. He has been selected as the leading talents of “outstanding contribution young and middle-aged experts” and “ten thousand talents plan” of the state. In 2009, he was awarded “R&D 100 Award” by the United States for his work on heat resistant steel. It won one second prize of National Natural Science Award, one first prize and one second prize of Ministry of education.
