On November 22, the Chinese Academy of Sciences announced the list of co-opted academicians for 2019. Ye Zhizhen, a professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University, was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Biography:
Ye Zhizhen received his Ph. D in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University(ZJU),China in 1987, then Joined in Dept. of Materials Sci & Eng at ZJU. He is interested in preparing semiconductor thin films and applications in photoelectric devices. During 1990-1992, he worked in silicon epitaxial growth by low temperature chemical vapor deposition at MIT as a visiting scholar. He was promoted a professor at ZJU in 1994. He works on deposition of ZnO thin films and p type doping and fabrication of LED and application of transparent conducting coating in solar cell. He has published more than 500 papers and get 100 patents.
