Biography:
Professor Tsang has direct interests in chemistry materials and applied catalysis. He has about 350 referred research publications in these areas including top journals such as Science, Nature and Nature sister journals. More than 16500 times citations with an h-index of about 61, 6 book chapters and 16 patents are obtained. His seminar works on opening and filling carbon nanotubes (Nature 372, 159-162, 1994, total citation of 1,716); shape and size effects of ZnO nanocrystals in catalysis (JACS, 131, 1254, 2009, total citation of 700); hydrogen production over Ag-Pd core-shell nanocatalyst (Nature Nano, 6 302-307, 2011, total citation of 600) are widely cited in the area of nano-catalysts. He is the top 10% highly cited researcher in RSC general chemistry (2014-2016). He has delivered over 200 plenary and invited presentations at conferences, universities and companies and raised > £10 M research income in nanomaterials research since he was a lecturer at 1995. He has won a number of international awards/recognitions including WGO award, London University (1993); Royal Society University Fellowship (1995-2000); IChemE award on iAc innovation in catalysis (2005), IChemE NES Awards for Novel Engineering-shortlisted candidate (2008); Royal Society Kan Tong Po Professorship (2012); Royal Society Green Chemistry award (2012) and Royal Society Surfaces and Interfaces award (2013), etc. He serves as international panel members for many research councils and industries worldwide. He is an associate editor in Science Advances (Science sister journal); Editorial member of ChemCatChem (a high profile catalysis journal from VCH). Editorial member of Catalysis, Structure & Reactivity (CAT) from Maney (a new journal); IChemE: Catalysis Subject Group Committee (2008-) and Member of the EPSRC College School (2003-).
